At Nkoba Rare Earth Ltd, the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, clients, contractors, and the communities in which we operate are of paramount importance. As a Ugandan company providing services in construction, mining, agriculture, hire and leasing of earth-moving equipment, oil and gas, water solutions, renewable energy, rare earth minerals, logistics and transport, general supplies, and consultancy, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety across all our operations.

  1. Policy Commitment
    We are committed to:
    • Preventing accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses.
    • Promoting a safe and healthy working environment.
    • Complying with all relevant Ugandan laws, international safety standards, and industry best practices.
    • Continuously improving our health and safety performance through training, monitoring, and proactive risk management.
  2. Responsibilities
    • Management shall ensure that adequate resources are provided to implement this policy effectively, including risk assessments, safety training, and proper equipment.
    • Supervisors shall enforce safety procedures, conduct regular inspections, and lead by example.
    • Employees and contractors are expected to take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others, report hazards promptly, and comply with safety protocols.
  3. Key Focus Areas
    Construction & Mining: Strict adherence to PPE use, site safety protocols, con-
    trolled blasting and excavation procedures, and environmental safeguards.
    Agriculture & Earth-moving Equipment: Safe handling of machinery, pesticide
    safety, and training in equipment operation and maintenance.
    Oil and Gas: High-risk operations are managed under rigorous safety systems includ-
    ing emergency response plans and fire safety protocols.
    Water & Renewable Energy Solutions: Safe installation practices, electrical safety,
    fall prevention, and confined space safety measures.
    Rare Earth Minerals & Transport: Hazardous material handling procedures, vehicle
    safety checks, and secure logistics operations.
    General Supplies & Consultancy: Office and warehouse safety, ergonomic practices,
    and mental well-being initiatives.
  4. Training and Awareness
    Nkoba Rare Earth Ltd shall provide continuous training and awareness programs to enhance the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of employees towards workplace safety.
  5. Incident Reporting and Investigation
    All incidents and near-misses shall be reported promptly, investigated thoroughly, and corrective actions implemented to prevent recurrence.
  6. Monitoring and Review
    We will regularly monitor, review, and audit our health and safety performance, policies, and procedures to ensure effectiveness and alignment with evolving legal and operational requirements.
